As we look to wrap up 2018, it is time to look forward to 2019. One of our favorite parts about the new year is planning our winter getaway. We prefer somewhere warm where the beaches are filled with flour-like sand and where the water is a clear blue – where you can see straight down.
For our “Hot in the City” editorial for resort 2019, we were inspired by the city that brings so many together. London is where we have met many new friends and where we have also called home. London is a financial center and is an incubator for fashion, from Alexander McQueen to Mary Katrantzou. And, London’s reach goes beyond designers, especially with Chanel‘s announcement this year they would look to have their headquarters in London – not Paris or New York but London.
We wanted this editorial to be a mix of high fashion and high street. You will see looks inspired by the runway and inspired by the streets. Our goal was to blend together some of our favorite model street style looks with those worn on the catwalk.
Now, let us transport you to a time and place in the future, somewhere you will create memories and do it all while fashionably dressed…
“It’s a new era in fashion – there are no rules. It’s all about the individual and personal style, wearing high-end, low-end, classic labels and up-and-coming designers all together.”
For 2019, why not revisit your closest to find a piece that may simply need something else to make it new again. In this case, Prada (shorts) were added to this look to make the top (stylist’s personal collection) new again.
The belt bag is still on-point! Here, it is paired with a Zara dress and a Tiffany & Co. wallet.
“In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different.”
We did say a beach was going to be included in this holiday getaway. A captivating red bikini continues our appreciation for this color. And, in this case, just add Jimmy Choo, and you change the whole look.
“What you wear is how you present yourself to the world, especially today when human contacts go so fast. Fashion is instant language.”
Whether packing for your next holiday or buying for the spring season, do not limit yourself. If something is meant as a swimsuit coverup, could you wear it as a shirt or a dress? What could you pair it with to take you from day to night, from the beach to the dinner table? And of course, do not forget the accessories, for this look, a Zara dress has been paired with Pierre Hardy heels. These heels! We could not get enough of them.
Here’s to an amazing 2019, one filled with many sun-filled holidays and happiness.
