Will be co-hosting Veuve Clicquot’s Carnaval to Miami on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the Museum Park, which overlooks Biscayne Bay. The event supports the Pérez Art Museum Miami.

Oscar de la Renta x USPS
This coming Thursday, the U.S. Postal Service® will issue the Oscar de la Renta First-Class Mail® stamps (Forever® priced at 49 cents) in eleven designs, in a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) pane of 11 stamps. Art director Derry Noyes designed the stamps.
“Most widely known for dressing the country’s first ladies and celebrities, Oscar de la Renta (1932–2014) was one of the world’s leading fashion designers for 50 years,” USPS commented. “This pane of 11 stamps features an evocative black-and-white portrait of the couturier and 10 details from several of his most exquisite gowns. De la Renta‘s innovative designs and close attention to detail elevated American style and brought international attention to New York as a world leader in fashion.”

David Bowie Photographs
Are up for auction at Paddle8. A selection of photographs of David Bowie are included with images by Mick Rock, Lynn Goldsmith and Geoff MacCormack, among others, and artwork and memorabilia are also included.
According to Paddle8, “This buy-now sale chronicles the many faces and sounds of David Bowie, along with his friends and collaborators.”
The auction closes 14 February.

Shared a short film, “Perspectives”, which takes a look at Drew Ginn, a five-time world champion rower and a triple Olympic gold medalist; Jesse Carlsson, a former BMX world champion, a theoretical physicist and an ultra-endurance cyclist; Katya Crema, who holds five Australian National Ski Cross Championship titles and four Australian National Alpine Championship titles and placed seventh place in ski cross at the 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games; and Tony D’Alberto, who has raced in junior categories of Formula Ford and V8 Supercar Development Series, currently races for DJR Team Penske and competes in the Australian GT Championship in a Ferrari, and how these athletes have dedicated themselves to their sport and their goals.

A Designer Tale
“On a late fall day in 1925, young couple Claude and Helen Habberstad alighted from Lackawanna station in Montville, New Jersey, and made their way up a winding dirt road. The Habberstads had been studying topographical maps, looking for a place convenient to New York City to build a weekend home.”
“’That very weekend we put a deposit on a tract of 13 acres located within walking distance of the station. It had a long road frontage, a brook, springs, trees and plenty of boulders,’ Claude recalled to the Boonton Times-Bulletin in 1959. An ordinary couple with the same maps at their disposal might have chosen a flat plot of land, already cleared of trees and cumbersome rocks. But the Habberstads were no ordinary couple…”
