Natalie Buchanan hails from Australia, has an apparent love for the beach and seems to always be having fun – not only in actions but in words too.
Her interview answers alone had us cracking more than a couple of smiles.
As we like to do with our Otter Ten series, let’s have our interviewee take it from here.
Enjoy this edition of the Otter Ten with Natalie (Nat) Buchanan…
1. What do we find in your beach bag?
“I seem to unintentionally carry around everything but the kitchen sink in all my bags!”
“For beach days – sunnies, sunscreen, a hat, fruit, water, Argan oil, brush, headphones and a sarong for a towel/emergency turban.”
2. What’s your must-do workout?
Although Nat admitted she recently enlisted the help of a personal trainer to help her get motivated and push her harder, she added the caveat, “I’ve never really been a huge gym junkie. I much prefer to look at fit girls working out and wonder why their body is better than mine while I demolish Lindt balls.”
She did speak to her love of Pilates, specifically leveraging a Pilates Reformer.
“I’m addicted and practice it religiously. It uses all your own body weight and core strength, it’s low impact and perfect for toning up quick.”
3. How do you prepare for a long flight?
“Firstly, I’m never prepared for anything. Secondly, I’m an extremely restless flyer if I haven’t brought any entertainment.”
“A human companion is ideal for me – not for them.”
“Otherwise, I’ve got to have a big book with me and a full playlist of new tunes, so I don’t try and jump out of the plane ninja style.”
“I must have a big bottle of water and healthy snacks too.”
4. What’s your must-visit place, if you only had one holiday to plan?
“I can’t pick just one place – the world is way too big and exciting!”
“I’m trying to holiday somewhere next where the culture is really different to what I’m familiar with. I would love to go to India, Nepal and/or Morocco next.”
5. What’s your favorite animal?
“Elephants – they seem so wise!”
6. What does modelling offer you?
“Amazing new creative friendships, opportunities beyond modelling, travel and a strong mind.”
7. What did you study for? Or, what did you want to study to be?
“I studied media arts and production.”
“I wanted to be a surgeon all during school and then did a full-360 last minute (much to my mother’s dismay) and decided being a movie director would be way more fun!”
8. What’s your favorite beach read?
“I love to read.”
“I’ve got into the habit of going to Vinnies [Australia] and raiding their book section. I just re-read The Picture of Dorian Gray [by Oscar Wilde]”
9. What’s your must-have beauty product?
“I have really light eyebrows naturally, and I’ve spent a good decade trying to paint and fluff them into Collin Farrell caterpillars. I use an eyebrow powder palette and tinted eyebrow gel over the top to add more darkness and texture.”
“They’re hands down my must-haves in my chaotic makeup bag.”
10. What’s your favorite beach activity?
“You will find me slothing on the beach and participating in no such beach activities.”
“Is talking shit with friends and laughing at guys playing beach frisbee an activity?”
Yes, we’d say that counts!
We appreciate how Nat is so down-to-earth and doesn’t seem to take herself too seriously.
Be sure to follow her on Instagram @natttybee to stay up-to-date on all of her adventures.
We do wonder, will she make it to India or Nepal or maybe Morocco?
We’ll have to stay tuned!
