Maybelline New York – one of those cosmetic brands that many on the MD Team grew up with it, especially with their catchy slogan.
Maybe she’s born with it. Maybe it’s Maybelline.
The New York-based brand has also had one Otterlicious roster of models, including Gigi Hadid, Jourdan Dunn, Christy Turlington Burns and Adriana Lima, among others.
According to The Daily, Maybel was a real person. The story goes like this.
“Maybel was preparing dinner and had an unfortunate cooking mishap,” commented Anne Marie Nelson-Bogle, head of marketing for Maybelline.
“She singed her brows and eyelashes. She mixed up a little coal dust and Vaseline and applied it to her lashes and brows and the first-ever mascara and brow enhancer was born.”
