“Every year, in order to create new [watch] models, I need new sources of inspiration,” commented Bruno Belamich, creative director of the French watch brand Bell & Ross.
“Following the success of our B-Rocket motorbike in 2014, I wanted to go even further and design the Bell & Ross car. The aim was to produce a car that can ‘hold its own’, even amongst automotive professionals. But above all, this real challenge was a great joy. The AeroGT concept car was the starting point for the creation of a new pair of watches inspired by the automotive world – the BR 03 AeroGT models.”
Yes, you read that right. Bell & Ross designed a concept car and then drew inspiration from that car to design their newest watches.
Now, see how it all comes together…
Fun Fact: Bell & Ross has partnered with Shaw Harley-Davidson in the UK to design a motorbike and watch in 2014, and thereafter, the brand created a watch inspired by the French Rafale fighter jet.
The 42mm steel AeroGT watches come in a chronograph version and a three-hand model, which are both skeletonized to showcase the movement and to create a 3D feel and are limited to 500 pieces each.
As for the car, it may still be only a concept, but who knows what could happen!
