Yolanda Foster’s Battle with Lyme Disease

Yolanda Foster, mom to Gigi and Bella Hadid, has been active on social media in sharing her struggles with Lyme Disease.

The former model has traveled around the globe, since being diagnosed with Lyme Disease in 2012, in search of a cure and has been sharing her journey along the way.

Spanning over two continents and three states, my search for answers was difficult but, I feel I was given this experience for a reason.

We will no longer allow this disease to terrorize our lives. We must break the silence.

We must speak out for those who cannot be heard. We must restore hope for those who have given up. And we must share our stories with the world.

What we love most about Yolanda is her positivity throughout this process. Of course, we only see snippets, but she appears to be trying her hardest to find the silver lining.

To help spread the word of Lyme Disease, here’s a look at Yolanda’s journey.

Earlier this year, Yolanda shared with Bravo TV more information on this disease.

“Lyme Neuroborreliosis is a spirochete infection in the brain that can leave one with severe brain impairment and neurological issues.”

“I have lost the ability to read, write or even watch TV because I can’t process information or any stimulation for that matter. It feels like someone came in and confiscated my brain and tied my hands behind my back to just watch and see life go by without me participating in it.”

“The most frustrating thing is that there is medical data on Lyme and spirochete infections going back all the way to 1908, but yet we still don’t have proper diagnostic testing, a vaccine or a cure for Lyme disease while we are living in the United States of America, the most extraordinary country in the world.”

“Something doesn’t add up here, and I will made it my life mission to figure this out because nobody deserves to suffer this way in 2015.”

We are wishing you all of the best, Yolanda, on your journey and to all those suffering from Lyme Disease.

Let’s work to find a cure!
