In honor of all things French and summer sun protection, we have rounded up some sunscreens by French brands that are great for the beach and for an all-over body protection. And, we do have a favorite!
La Roche-Posay
We were first introduced to La Roche-Posay on a trip to Paris. At that time, the brand was not yet available in the U.S.. Our current favorite La Roche-Posay sunscreen for the body is their La Roche-Posay Anthelios Cooling Water-Lotion Sunscreen. This French brand’s Vichy Idéal Capital Soleil Sunscreen SPF 60 Sunscreen is lightweight and is a soft, sheer formula that is meant for the face and body. It is meant for all skin types, including: dry, normal, oily, acne prone, combination and sensitive.

Avène
To round out this list is a mineral-based sunscreen. Avène’s Mineral Light Hydrating Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50 is said to be water resistant, provides long lasting hydration and is suitable for all skin types and tones.
