European swimwear brand, Makara Wear, has partnered with the Bali-based FLKLR Surf on a swimwear capsule collection. The collection is entitled “SATU”, which means ONE in Bahasa, Indonesian.
“I was always wanting to try a collaboration with other brands,” Gerda Mi, founder of Makara Wear told us. “It was great to work with Mar Cubillos, the owner of FLKLR Surf, as we both left space for each other’s knowledge and input, as we had different experiences in different fields. It was easy to collaborate and help each other.”

Mi continued, “The most exciting part of this collaboration was having two flavors connect into one power. It’s a very interesting process, and you are very curious to see the result because it’s not anymore just about my own idea or look. It’s a mutual power and work. We both very happy with the results.”
The three-piece capsule collection includes a wetsuit, bikini and one piece swimsuit and marks the first collaboration for Makara Wear.

Makara Wear is a brand we love to keep our eye on, and we know we will see more and more from them. They are currently working on their spring-summer 2019 collection, which Mi shared with us will be futuristic and modern. We can also look forward to some clothing coming from the brand. And, there is potential for other collaborations, such as with illustrators or painters – we cannot wait!
