What do you get when the Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara commissions photographer Gray Malin to recreate vintage shots at its Coral Casino Beach and Cabana Club – where the likes of Zsa Zsa Gabor, Bing Crosby and Lana Turner were known to visit – for the resort’s 90th anniversary? You get images that not only capture the physical features of the area, but you get transported to another time and place.
“I’m very inspired by the jet-set life of the early 20th century, a time when men wore suits to fly and ladies enjoyed a gimlet or two at lunch,” shared Malin via the Four Seasons. “Upon learning of the luxurious prominence of the Coral Casino Beach and Cabana Club, I could immediately imagine this glamorous period of history. Inspired to capture the essence of a timeless American summer, I enlisted the help of the incredible synchronized dance team the Aqualillies as my muse.”
The Malin images are available for purchase and due to the recent weather-related events that occurred in Santa Barbara, the photographer is donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this series to the beautification and restoration of the Montecito community.
