When we first came across the Inn at Perry Cabin by Belmond, we thought it simply seemed like a nice place to stay. In other words, nothing too over the top spoke to us.
That is, until we began to dig a bit deeper…
Location: In the Victorian town of St. Michaels, on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, which is roughly two hours from Washington D.C., Philadelphia and Baltimore and about four hours away from New York City.
The Hotel: A 19th-century colonial mansion.
The Amenities: There’s a swimming pool, a fitness center and eateries, but there’s more. You can rent bicycles, you can enjoy the manicured gardens where the chefs grow some of the food they serve and there are boat docking facilities.
Sailing Academy: To go one step further on the amenities and the boat docking, the Inn also has a sailing academy. Yes, you read that right.
With three courses to choose from, Learn to Sail in a Weekend – a two-day course, Learn to Sail Basic Keelboat – a three-day ASA 101 course and Learn to Sail Basic Keelboat & Cruising – a five-day course taking you from absolute beginner to completing the American Sailing Association’s intermediate certificate ASA 103, you can take your Escape to the next level
Imagine staying at the Inn while learning to sail or refining your skills on a yacht? Yes, they have packages for that, and these packages are what sealed the deal for us on how Otterlicious this Inn really is.
Accommodations: You have choices. Queen or King rooms to one-bedroom suites to master suites with a king-sized bed, water views and fresh fruit and cookies – we must satiate our tastebuds.
Dining: A little something for everyone. Whether you fancy some Afternoon Tea or a pint from The Purser’s Pub or a cocktail from the High Tide Pool Bar or some seafood from Stars, the Inn has you covered.
Did we yet mention they also have jazz nights?
We know – how has this stayed under our radar for so long?
