We got a variety of books for you in this High Summer book round-up. We did notice, though, we seem to have a soft spot for Nantucket in this edition. Grab a book and enjoy the rest of these summer days.

Love, Life, and Elephants: An African Love Story by Daphne Sheldrick – A Model Magdalene Groves Read
This is a memoir by Dame Daphne Sheldrick who shares her career as a conservationist where she saved countless African animals from certain death. We meet a whole host of orphans―including Bushy, a liquid-eyed antelope, and the majestic elephant Eleanor. We also get a peek into her relationship with David Sheldrick, the Tsavo National Park warden whose death inspired the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and the orphans’ nursery.

The High Season by Judy Blundell – Md Staff Pick
Ruthie Beamish lives in a quiet Long Island seaside village. In order to maintain this house, she must rent it out during the high season. A Nantucket Wedding by Nancy Thayer – Md Staff Pick
Set in Nantucket, Alison is a widow who is set to get remarried. Her fiancé, David, has yet to meet her two adult daughters – Felicity and Jane. In the time leading up to Alison’s wedding, a lot happens. Felicity uncovers a secret that could shatter her carefully cultivated world. Jane finds herself infatuated with her soon-to-be stepbrother, and even Alison is wondering about her new blended family. All of this happens before Alison even walks down the aisle.
