ACACIA is a Hawaii-based swimwear and ready-to-wear brand. We spoke with the brand’s owner and designer, Naomi Newirth, earlier this year. In follow-up to that interview and as she lives in Maui, we wanted to get her take on her favorite parts of Hawaii for this Cinq Questions series.

What is your favorite beach in Maui?
Ho’okipa or Hamoa.
If you had to choose one Hawaiian island, which is your favorite?
Maui! Not only because it’s my home, but because it has so much to offer – everything from tropical to rolling green hills that look like England. It’s not as crazy as Oahu, but has a bit more going on than Kauai; the perfect in-between.

What is your favorite beach/water activity when in HI?
Surfing.
What do you love most about the Hawaiian culture?
The beach lifestyle and laidback way of living.
What is your favorite local food?
Poke.
